Posted on: October 14, 2015
Lao Ford City held a handover ceremony marking completion of construction of classrooms for Ban Sor School in Laos. This program was funded under the “Ford Conservation and Environmental Grant 2013” program with USD 15,000 of funds pledged in support.
Ban Sor School is located at Sor Village, Tard Thong District, Vientiane. There are 325 students and 11 teachers, yet this important educational center lacks classrooms, while the building’s general condition meant that it was unable to offer a suitable learning environment to students. Lao Ford City kicked off the project at the end of 2013, with construction started in March 2014. Students, teachers and the director of the school were very happy with the new classrooms from Lao Ford City, and on the ceremony day, everyone expressed their joy and happiness; students also enjoyed snacks and soft drinks provided by Lao Ford City.
Ford and Lao Ford City have been working together since 2011 on the Ford Conservation and Environmental Grant program. For next year’s plan under the program, Lao Ford City will provide a solar system for rural areas in Laos.
